Amen and amen, Charlotte. Perfect words for this gorgeous day — and oh, what a beautiful photo. When you look up, you can never go wrong. Happy 4th! Deb
Thanks for the reminder, Charlotte. I will say I've taken what we have here in America for granted. No more. We are an imperfect country, in an imperfect world, full of all of us imperfect people. As Edward Murrow quoted Shakespeare, "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves."
Enjoy your day. And I'm so curious to know how you found out all those details about your family! I'm sorting through my family tree right now, and I'm fascinated.
Imperfection, yes. I wish people would be more pragmatic and realize all countries are filled with imperfection, not just us. Almost every day I roll my eyes at what I see people saying online about America.
I found my information through ancestry.com, following hints and clicking links. In another line of my family, looking for my biological father who died when I was a baby, I’ve found almost nothing, only bits about his military service during which he died. So, I guess it depends on documentation and ancestry work done by other family members. In recent years I haven’t done much but I think I’m going to pick it up again.
Trying! Thank you for this!
