I wish we would get some real rain here in Winnipeg. Drought-like conditions and wildfire smoke. Good luck with your weather and gardening.

Wonderful Charlotte!

Love the Susan Griffin quote too.

I do follow some of these substacks, will look at the others.

Keep on trying on the tomatoes. Would send you some of mine, a bit difficult to do...

Ok I’ll “be the first to like this post,” love this post. While eating my granola (and donuts) I thought, I want to look at something beautiful. And by that I was thinking, flowers, plants and maybe vegetables, dirt. So thank you friend, for these recs. I ponder a lot these days on the idea of nature that is something separate from us? Why do we say that or think that? I’m writing a big old long piece about it. I’m about ready to give up on tomato’s too, and I continue to be in awe of farmers.

Granola and donuts - I’m all in for that! I have lots of thoughts about nature that probably wouldn’t completely blend with current climate ideology so I focus on the positive angle. I’m interested in your piece! I’m here if you’d like another set of eyes. :)

Enjoy the reads!

Charlotte! If you are serious, it would be a tremendous gift for you to read it. It was close to acceptance at Tahoma Literary (got a nice note from the editor) and is in process at The Plentitudes. But I was just jacking with (I mean revising) it this morning. And I was thinking, I need someone to tell me if I'm just messing it up. It's about 3,800 words. It you have the time I wouldn't be able to thank you enough. Let me know and I can email it over.
